Fabcraft
Nemesis P-I
We are doing
another show sled that Mike and Steve are going to have
fun putting together. This will be Mike's sled to ride
and what a ride it's gonna be!! And now, it's a tug
of war between him and Monica to see who's sled gets
done first!
They are doing
another P-I chassis which is based on a Polaris IQ bulkhead
in a 162" length; but they are going to take an
Arctic Cat base 900cc motor with a Cutler 1150cc kit
on it and retrofit it into the bulkhead! It will of
course have all other Fabcraft components, including
our new Fabcraft seat, made specifically for us by R&M.
It will also have a CMX belt drive, and Walker Evans
shocks - front and rear. We are striving for a 230 horsepower,
460 lb sled. Now that's some serious power to weight
ratio !!

The guys
have started on the hardest part first - how to fit
this motor into this chassis!
Steve
has nicknamed it "Dolly". He says it's a lot
like trying to fit Dolly Parton into a training bra
!!!
| Ok,
now that the motor is done, it's time to try to
fit the pipes under the hood. So they've put the
skins on and will work on getting a fit. Wonder
how much pipe cutting and reshaping they're gonna
have to do?!! |
 |
| How
the hell is this gonna work??!!! |
 |
| I
can tell you there was a lot of head scratching
and cutting.....but I think Steve's done it!! |
|
| Here's
a sneak peek at the new color he's chosen. It's
really going to look cool! It has a copper color
to it. He matched it off his Sportsman ATV. |
|
| Mike's
got the bulhead riveted to the tunnel... |
|
| ...and
the guys are attaching the runningboards. |
|
| Now
Mike has the steering hope on .... |
|
| and
he and Steve are starting into the front end. |
 |
| The
arms and spindles are done, steering post on and
now the belt drive. |
|
| Belt
drive accomplished!!! |
|
| Steve's
got the rear suspension and track all mounted, and
the gas tank on. |
 |

WAHOO!!
After all this time this sled is finally done!! It looks
pretty darn cool. I have to tell you that Mike isn't
sure he's man enough to start this "bad boy"
in cold temps! It about took him out just starting it
in a warm shop!!!
