Ray Bauer
Ray is from Faribault MN. He's got an
Arctic Cat SnoPro that we are going to make some serious
changes to! First he wants to lengthen it to a 162".
With that in mind, we are putting on a tunnel, track,
rear suspension, and a CMX belt drive. Ray, you're going
to need all that to keep up with Grant and his revamped
Mini!!
| Here
she is before Steve gets his hands on her! It's
a pretty cool looking sled! |
 |
| She's
got a short little footprint compared to what's
coming! |
|
| ...and
down she goes! |
 |
| Steve'
working on fitting the Belt drive. |
|
| The
tunnel is finally done! It takes awhile for Mike
to get all the physical measurements done and then
draw it up on CAD and then have the water jetter
cut it out! Things should go together fairly quickly
now! |
|
| Now
the belt drive is finished..... |
|
| Leif
has the running boards tacked on for fit... |
|
| ...and
Steve has the gas tank and brace bars fitted. Ray
wants just the runningboards powder coated so now
they are off the tunnel and at the coater. |
 |
| All
right!! Everything is done at powder coat so now
this bad boy can go together! Ray, thanks for being
so patient. With a new chassis there's alot of fit
and finish issues, templates, etc. It can take awhile,
and you know what a perfectionist Mike is!!! |
 |
| Leif's
riveting on the running boards. |
|
| Steve's
got the footwells on and is starting on attaching
the track...... |
|
| .....
and the suspension, which is truly "manual
labor"!! |
|
| It's
getting closer! Steve is doing all the little stuff
now! |
|
| The
final adjustments on the belt drive..... |
|
| Finally
done and ready to roll out for the final shot!! |
|

Wow!!
This looks so cool, and it feels pretty 'trick' when
you're standing on it. I think one of these bulkheads
is in my future (I'm sure Mike will insist his new sled
FINALLY get finished first!!)
The
ironic story to this ending is that as of November 6,
Ray is snowed in in Rapid City, SD on his way here to
pick this up! The Black Hills are getting pounded with
3-4 feet of snow, with the Interstate closed for 2 days.
Poor, poor Ray is stuck with all that snow, nothing
to do, and no sled! Ray your timing is a little off.
Just think of the fun you'd be having right now if you
had been heading home with your new sled and THEN getting
snowed in. Just to rub it in a little, Ray....there
are a lot of great trails all around Deadwood!!
